Product Description
Custom waterslide decals for model aircraft are precision-printed transfers that reproduce national insignia, squadron markings, airframe stencils and nose art on ultra-thin film, giving scale aircraft builds an authentic, factory-applied appearance. From WWII fighters to modern jets, accurate markings make a model come alive.
What Are Model Aircraft Decals?
Model aircraft decals are water-slide transfers printed on a thin carrier film. After soaking in water, the film slides onto the model surface and adheres, conforming to panel lines, control surfaces and curved fuselages. Once sealed with clear coat, the carrier disappears and the markings look painted on. They cover national insignia, squadron codes, serial numbers, warning stencils and nose art.
Authentic Insignia and Markings
Aircraft markings are governed by strict period specifications, and accuracy is what separates a display model from a shelf queen. Our designers redraw national roundels, fin flashes, crosses and stars to the correct proportions, colours and period variants. Squadron codes, serial numbers and airframe stencils are matched to documented standards, and nose art is recreated from reference photos.
- National insignia redrawn to period specifications
- Squadron codes and serials matched to references
- Airframe stencils in correct size and placement
- Nose art recreated from photos or descriptions

From Reference to Finished Markings
Send us photos, scans, kit instruction sheets or reference images of the real aircraft. Our designers will redraw and rescale the markings to fit your model. We regularly work with competition builders, aftermarket producers and kit brands that need accurate, repeatable aircraft markings across production runs.
Application Tips
Apply aircraft decals over a glossy clear-coated surface. National insignia and large markings benefit from setting solution to help them settle over compound curves and recessed panel lines. Allow each marking to dry fully before applying the next, then seal the whole model with clear coat once all decals are in place.
How to Order

Frequently Asked Questions
Which aircraft scales can you print?
All common scales including 1/144, 1/72, 1/48 and 1/32. Custom sizes are welcome for unusual subjects. One set of markings can be output across several scales from a master file.
Can you recreate national insignia and stencils?
Yes. We redraw national roundels, fin flashes, squadron codes, serial numbers and airframe stencils to the correct period specifications. Send references or let us use documented standards.
Do you do nose art and custom squadron markings?
Yes. Send photos, scans or descriptions of nose art, squadron badges or custom graphics and our designers will recreate them at scale with accurate colours.
What eras of aircraft do you cover?
WWI, WWII, Korean, Cold War and modern subjects are all common requests. Any aircraft with sufficient reference material can be reproduced, including helicopters and UAVs.
Are the decals thin enough for recessed panel lines?
Yes. The ultra-thin carrier is designed to settle over recessed detail. Apply over a glossy clear coat with setting solution and seal with clear coat to virtually eliminate silvering.
What is the lead time for aircraft decals?
Samples take 5-7 days after artwork approval, and bulk production runs 7-15 days depending on quantity. Custom redraws add 2-3 days to the artwork stage.
